Daily Exercise

Project Name

Daily Exercise, Lockdown 1, Lockdown 2 and Lockdown 3

When we were first locked down in March of 2020, it was a time of very mixed emotions, from being scared and feeling isolated from society, I also felt lucky to live in such a glorious area of the country and fortunate again to be able to take my daily exercise in such a beautiful place. I walked with my children and with my husband. There were moments of magic, I felt lucky to be alive and have this precious time with my family. There were moments of despair, I missed people, bustle and conversation. The boards show the days drifting by in ever-increasing numbers, but more than that, they show the beauty of the world, the continuation of nature and how unimportant we are in the grand scheme of things, it helped for me to understand my part in it, in my very small part of it.

The boards are in Grayson Perry's Art Club exhibition in Bristol Museum and Art Gallery
